PROJECT SCOPE

This project included a major renovation of the historic Inquirer Building (National Registry of Historic Places ref #: 96000716) into an Essential Services Facility for the City of Philadelphia. The 500,000 SF building will become the new headquarters of the Philadelphia Police Dept., Philadelphia Homicide Unit, Police & Fire Communication Center, and the Medical Examiner’s Office. This robust project includes renovations to all floors, complete restoration of the existing clock tower and exterior building facades, new roofing, redundancy systems to support an N+1 facility, all new MEP systems, twelve elevator renovations, installation of telecommunications systems designed to exceed all NEC, ANSI/TIA and industry standards, and IP–networked CCTV security systems.
