The Hyperloop is a prototype transportation system consisting of a mile-long vacuum chamber constructed inside a welded steel tube with concrete floors and aluminum tracks. All of which required internal tolerances measured to within forty thousandths of an inch. The scope of work included coordination with the City of Hawthorne, Union Pacific Railroad, and the engineer of record, AECOM. The cost estimating scope of work included the evaluation of costs related to deep and shallow foundations, steel tube, vacuum pumps, track and sub-track construction.
